Thanks for swinging by our website! We are so excited to finally launch!! This is a year in the making so it's really great to finally be able to put all the pieces together! When my twins were born we were desperate for sleep and hired a sleep consultant to help us. It was hands down one of the best investments we have ever made in our children. It benefitted them tremedously as well as myself and my husband and indirectly my two daughters as well (I'm sure we were much more patient with them post sleep training! ;)). I should also mention that when we did the boys we had a total sleep makeover for all our kids! My daughters were 2 and 4 at the time and were certainly staying up too late and were definitely over tired. Their ridiculous bedtime routine was also wearing on us. So we bumped up their bedtime and laid out some rules and the end result was 4 well-rested happy children and 2 parents that had control over bedtime and time alone at night at a reasonable hour to talk about adult things!!
Immediately after sleep training I knew I wanted to get certified and help people! I was going to go through the process starting in the fall and was ready to sign up and then decided it was too much. I needed to wait until the boys were just a little bit older. I had talked to my sister Bridget about my interest and then once I realized it was too much, I told her I wasn't going to do it now. She started researching it and told me she was going to get certified. A number of months went by and not much was said about it. In that time I referred a large number of people to the sleep consultant I had used. Watching my friends go from sleep deprivation and desperation to gaining control and becoming well-rested parents who have a good handle on bedtime and what their children needed, kept my interest in getting certified. I became extremely passionate about it and decided that I was going to get certified. I approached Bridget about it again and said I was going to get certified and if she was still interested she should to and we could work together! She said yes on the spot!
I was super excited that she agreed to do it with me! At the time Bridget only had her son, who was the same age as my boys. So she had gone through some of the sleep struggles we all go through and quickly learned it didn't have to be this way. To me she is the perfect partner to go into this with. She has always been amazing with children! She spent her high school and college years babysitting and even took a nanny job right out of college. She has seen all different types of parenting styles - and lots of crazy bedtime routines! So to me this seemed like a natural progression and perfect fit for her!
We have both have first-hand experience with babies and sleep deprivation. It is horrible. It affects your ability to function during the day and maintain meaningful and caring relationships with your children, spouses, friends and family. We have also seen the affects it has on the baby or child. Prior to sleep training my twins, they were very difficult to be around and manage. They cried all the time, they were miserable and we were miserable. As our friends and co-workers have started having children we have seen how the lack of sleep is affecting them as well. We have really learned what a big problem this lack of sleep is for babies and families alike. When you have a baby you are taught many things about caring for them by your pediatrician or nurses. Such as how and when to feed them, how to bathe them, and milestones they reach at certain ages. There is very little taught about babies or children and sleep. They do teach safe sleep practices, which is extremely important, but that is about all that is taught. Why sleep is not a bigger priority is beyond me!
Unfortunately, sleep is not a luxury it is a necessity. It allows our bodies and brains time to rest, recover, and recharge. We feel passionately about helping you get your baby or child on track with sleep because of the importance sleep plays in everyone's life! We see the value in educating our clients about age appropriate sleep and how to achieve this. We love that each family is different and has different needs and family philosphies! We look forward to working with each individual family unit and coming up with methods that best fit them, and addressing specific sleep problems and needs! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions at all! Thanks for stopping by and check back often!!
