Has your toddler ever blamed not being able to fall asleep or waking in the middle of the night on monsters?! Whether this is a legitimate fear or anxiety they have or if it is just a stall tactic, there’s no better remedy than the handy dandy MONSTER SPRAY! This monster spray is proven to rid their room of monsters in just one spray! Luckily if you have an empty spray bottle, believe it or not, you have all you need to make the best and most effective monster spray around! Recipe below. ;)
If your child has a real fear of something like monsters, do not try to argue him out of his feelings. This will not change his mind. Instead, be empathetic and keep in mind that these monsters are real to him. Consider telling your little one about a fear that you had when you were his age and how “Monster Spray” kept the monsters out of your room and you were able to get the sleep you needed.
Although Monster Spray can be something fun to make and have, if your child has not shown any fears in monsters (or anything else for that matter), DO NOT INTRODUCE THE MONSTER SPRAY! We do not want to give them a reason to be scared! We do not want to create a fear or anxiety that was not previously there; we are trying to rid them of these fears or anxieties that they have brought to our attention. Be careful what you say! Kids have awesome and huge imaginations but when it comes to sleep keep it simple and veer away from mention of anything that they could potentially be fearful of. It will also help to limit and supervisor what your child is watching on tv, especially within a few hours of bedtime.
1 empty spray bottle
Directions: Fill the spray bottle with water. Decorate the bottle if you desire.
*The “Monster” can be substituted for whatever fear or anxiety that your toddler may have.
